AJC blogs on “MARTA crime”
Monday’s post at the AJC’s “Atlanta Forward” blog focused on the ongoing train and bus security enhancements, and the extent to which passengers and police expect those changes to affect what it’s like to use the system.
We’ll leave aside speculation about why the title “MARTA crime” was chosen instead of “MARTA security,” “More cameras on MARTA,” or MARTA riders talk safety,” especially considering the content of the post, very little of which is about crime.
Judging by how few comments there are right now (five), not many people have come across the post. When the words “MARTA” and “crime” appear in the same sentence, the discourse generally devolves into apocryphal stories, racism and insults within hours. This post has been up for almost a full day and, so far, only one comment appears to have been assembled from an anti-MARTA Bingo card.
